The Ultrasound Says Our Baby Is.......

Stubborn! Darn it. Wonderful baby was totally not cooperating with our idea of finding out if we were having a boy or a girl. We did find out we are only having ONE (even after all of Brian's jokes). Whew! First, baby was curled up in ball. Next, baby was crossing legs. Then, baby was just plain holding legs very tightly together. The ultrasound technician tried for about 15 minutes to get a peek, but baby wanted nothing to do with this. We got lots of leg shots and even some good bum shots, but not what we were trying to see. Brian says this must mean it's a girl. Only time will tell.

However, the WONDERFUL news is that baby looks very healthy. Ultrasound measurements put the due date just a day off (Dec. 10) from where we figured (Dec. 11). I love seeing the heart beat!!! The kids really enjoyed being there for the ultrasound- except maybe for Russell. He acted like a... well, like a four year old boy. When we listened to the heartbeat, Russell thought it sounded like a dog barking and the tech joked with him that maybe there was a chihuahua in there. (Glad that's only a joke!) Of course if we had a chihuahua instead of giganto dogs, maybe my cell phone wouldn't have ended up as a chew toy yesterday- but that's another story.

Anyway- the technician said I could come back in two weeks for a "sex check" ultrasound. Hopefully baby will be much less modest then. We were all disappointed we didn't get a peek, but so very grateful that everything looks healthy for baby. We'll keep you posted!
