Halloween (a little late)

Okay, I know this is way overdue, but I figured I should a least post a picture of the kids in their Halloween costumes. We had a really fun day. Brian had the day off from work, so he and I and Russell went to the school to help with parties. There was Halloween Bingo, extra recess time, pumpkin waffles, and more. Next it was off to the Trunk or Treat at our church. I always enjoy seeing all the different costumes. This year was especially nice because the weather cooperated. Any Halloween without snow or cold wind is a real bonus. Grandma Nancy and Uncle Chris joined us at the church and we had a great time! After the trunk-or-treat, we trick-or-treated at relatives' homes. We visited Grandma Betty (bonus here was eating lots of Pringles), Grandma Ruth & Grandpa Gerald (BIG bonus here was getting to see all the deer in the neighbor's yard and crossing the road- plus the mini soda-pop cans), Uncle Nord & Aunt Shawna & Cousin Ryan (bonus here was a pancake for Russell), and Grandma & Grandpa Merrell (bonus here was doughnuts and cider). Whew! The night doesn't end yet...

Russell and Brian got dropped off at home to catch any remaining neighborhood trick-or-treaters. Dani and Zack headed out to do their own candy hunting close to home. It was the first year we have let them go without a parent, so they were pretty darn excited. They took pillowcases and ended up with a TON of candy. (Later they counted and they each had something like 236 pieces. Can you say sugar high?) Then, I took Dani & Zack to Zack's teacher's house. She told the kids at school if they came to her house, she would have a special treat for them. Each kid got to choose a full size candy bar. Plus, Zack thought it was cool to see his teacher's house and her two dogs. Next, the three of us stopped to see Wendy, Pat, Oakley, and Cedar. Oakley was still out getting candy, but we were able to visit with everyone else for a short while. Pat even tried on Zack's wig and Dani's wig. I'm not sure which one looked better on him. ha ha

Halloween ended up crazy and a bit tiring, but altogether really great! What a fun time!

Here's a few pictures of the Werewolf, Corpse Bride and Batman:

Hey, that costume makes Dani look WAY to old! Sounds like you had a fun time; I would have gone crazy with all that running around! We make the grandparents come to us!
